2008 Toyota 4Runner A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Condenser from the HVAC system on 2008 Toyota 4Runner?
A: The first step to extract a condenser from an HVAC system requires the refrigeration system to be free of refrigerant. First disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly through bolt removal and by detaching it from the cooler condenser assembly before carefully extracting the O-ring from within the cooler refrigerant discharge hose sub-assembly. The disconnected parts require vinyl tape application for moisture and foreign matter prevention at their opening. The air conditioning tube assembly disconnect process requires removing the bolt first which separates the tube from the cooler condenser assembly before removing its O-ring then using vinyl tape for sealing the opening. Remove cooler condenser cushion No. 2 by starting with cooler condenser bracket No. 1 and the nut followed by removal of 4 bolts and the cooling component cushion No. 2. To begin the procedure you should take away cooler condenser cushion No. 1 by undoing its four bolts and extracting both the bolts and cushion. Take out the cooler condenser core as the last step.
