Before putting the piston with spring into the cylinder be cautious to protect the cylinder body from any internal damage. The push rod should receive its stop plate before the installation of the rod to the cylinder body completes. Snap ring pliers should be used for snap ring installation during piston rod push while also adding the boot onto the cylinder body. The push rod receives the lock nut before the technician attaches the clevis with the lock nut to the push rod. Follow these steps to install the inlet union with its new grommet then tap the slotted spring pin using a pin punch and hammer until it achieves a standard protrusion between 1.5 to 3.5 mm (0.059 to 0.138 in.).
