2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the ABS Control Module for Antilock Brakes on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: Draining brake fluid should be the first step when servicing the Antilock Brakes Hydraulic Control Assembly and washing down any fluid that reaches painted surfaces immediately. Start the procedure by removing the battery tray then the battery followed by the brake actuator. Before the brake actuator connector can be removed it needs a clip release and lock lever deactivation. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to separate the brake tube from the front flexible hose as well as the two brake tubes from brake tube No. 1 way and from the master cylinder and from the brake actuator so each tube can be marked for future reconnection. First remove the brake tube clamp using a tool before unscrewing the three bolts which will allow the extraction of the actuator bracket assembly. Proceed to remove the brake actuator bracket assembly through the removal of its two nuts. Installation requires using the two nuts to attach the actuator bracket with 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in. lbs.) torque forcing the hole plug to remain until the brake tube connection. First secure the three bracket bolts meanwhile torquing each one to 19 Nm (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft. lbs.) in an installation sequence. New brake tube clamps need installation after using Special Service Tool: 09023-00100 to insert brake tubes into the actuator. Torque measurements must be performed to 15 Nm (155 kgf.cm, 11 ft. lbs.) when no tool is present but 14 Nm (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft. lbs.) when using the tool with a 300 mm (11.81 in.) torque wrench fulcrum length. The same torque specifications should be maintained while installing both brake tubes on the brake master cylinder and the brake tube on the brake tube No. 1 way. Authenticate the actuator using an intelligent tester after connecting the brake actuator connector and reinstalling the battery carrier and tray and battery and filling the brake fluid reservoir. Bleed the master cylinder and line before checking the reservoir fluid and inspecting for leakage.
