2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the TPMS Sensor and transmitter on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: Follow this procedure to take out the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter: First remove the tire and then let the air flow out by unscrewing the valve core and cap followed by unfastening the valve nut and washer so that it will drop inside the tire barrel. Ladle the shoe of a tire remover between the bead to release it but maintain minimum contact with both the valve and transmitter. Extract the valve and transmitter while removing the upper bead and check the grommet for damage before reinstalling the washer and nut if needed. Put the valve directly into the hole of the rim with the printing surface facing out and ensure the insertion area remains clear of damage. The valve can be reused only when you replace the grommet. Tighten the washer and nut while ensuring a torque of 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 inch lbs.) and inspect for foreign matter presence. Mount the wheel disc on a machine following steps to place the lower tire bead in position. At this time direct the valve to the shaded portion of the wheel to protect it from damage. After filling the tire with air the technician should retighten the specified torqued nut while testing for leaks with soapy water on the tire assembly. Tighten the wheel with 131 Nm torque for aluminum wheels and 209 Nm for steel wheels during installation. The technician should check the tire followed by registering the transmitter ID while performing initialization steps after confirming that all wheels have appropriate tire pressure settings. The technician should verify actual tire pressures become visible in the DATA LIST following all necessary repairs.
