2007 Toyota Tundra Air Injection Pump Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Air Injection Pump on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: Air Injection Pump servicing starts with disconnecting the battery cable from the negative terminal and requiring 90 seconds of wait time until restarting the engine after shutting down to allow navigation recording and settings maintenance. The front fender liner from the right-hand side requires 9 clips to be removed next. Start by using a clip remover to unfasten 2 clips from the No. 3 air injection system hose before folding back the fender apron seal and disconnecting 2 connectors together with 2 connector clamps while detaching 2 clamps and 2 bracket clips. Reach the No. 2 air injection system hose by taking off its bracket clip. The installation of the air pump assembly includes removing two bolts along with two nuts. Insert the slot of the air pump assembly onto the stud and bracket tab before securing it with 2 bolts and 2 nuts that require torque settings at 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for the bolts and 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) for the nuts. Use the illustrations to install the No. 2 air injection system hose which needs to be followed by installing the No. 3 air injection system hose before connecting the two connectors with two connector clamps while reinstalling the fender apron seal using two clips. Before completion replace the fender liner with 9 clips while reconnecting the cable that controls the negative battery terminal keeping in mind that some systems demand a system initialization after reestablishing the connection.
