2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the exhaust manifold on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: As the first step for exhaust manifold maintenance you must disconnect battery cable from the negative terminal but some systems might need system initialization after cable reattachment. Begin by removing the air switching valve assembly and then proceed with removing either the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly for Regular Cab Standard Deck (or its alternative version) and lastly, the front exhaust pipe assembly. Begin by removing the exhaust manifold RH through a process of unfastening 6 nuts followed by exhaust manifold and gasket extraction before taking out the No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator after unbolted the 3 bolts. Start by uninstalling the exhaust manifold LH through removal of its 6 nuts and exhaust manifold together with the gasket. Install the exhaust manifold LH first by applying a new gasket to the cylinder head LH with the oval shaped side directed toward the back and fasten it using 6 new nuts which require 21 N m (214 kgf cm, 15 ft. lbf) torque. Place the No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator on its position and fasten it with 3 bolts which need torque adjustment at 8.5 N m (87 kgf cm, 75 in. lbf). Secure the exhaust manifold RH to the cylinder head RH by placing a new gasket with proper orientation then fasten it with 6 new nuts which require torquing to 21 N m (214 kgf cm, 15 ft. lbf). IR sequence continuation includes front exhaust pipe assembly addition followed by front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly for Regular Cab Standard Deck or its variant and completion with air switching valve assembly. After the negative battery terminal connection, check if initialization is necessary for systems that require it.
