2007 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the rear coil spring on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: The first step to remove the rear coil spring involves wheel removal followed by disconnection of 2WD skid control sensor wires through connector removal and bolt extraction to detach the bracket from the rear axle beam assembly. The bolts which connect the speed sensor rear LH and RH must be removed in order to separate them for 4WD. The exhaust pipe assembly tail must be removed along with the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly and the rear drive shaft assembly LH by applying matchmarks then removing 4 nuts and washers to separate it from the differential flange. The same multi-step procedure should be performed on the rear drive shaft assembly located on the right-hand side. Proceed to remove the differential carrier assembly rear by taking apart parking brake cable assembly No.3 and No.2 and then use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to disconnect rear brake tubes No.2 and No.1 and collect any fluid that drains. The fuel tank filler hose cover and rear floor No.2 crossmember brace both LH and RH must be removed before the rear axle beam assembly is loosened with a retaining nut kept in place to avoid rotation. Lift the rear axle beam assembly using a jack before separating the shock absorber assembly rear LH and removing the coil spring rear LH at a controlled pace by using shop rags. Disassemble the rear coil spring insulator upper component from the left-hand side. The installation process begins with the rear coil spring insulator upper LH followed by installation of the coil spring rear LH where the lower end slot should rest in the spring lower seat. Rise the jack while connecting the shock absorber assembly rear LH then temporarily tighten its nut before proceeding to connect the shock absorber assembly rear RH. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to connect rear brake tube No.2 and No.1 and stand by the torque requirements. The installation order includes differential carrier assembly rear and rear drive shaft assemblies LH and RH and parking brake cable assembly No.3 and No.2. All nuts and bolts require the specified torque values during installation. Put the propeller and all its components with speed sensors while reattaching the skid control sensor wire which handles 2WD operations. The procedure concludes with the installation of the exhaust pipe assembly tail, brake line bleeding, brake fluid level inspection, suspension stabilization through rear wheel installation and vehicle bouncing, complete tightening of shock absorber assemblies and rear axle beam and rear floor No.2 crossmember braces and fuel tank filler hose cover. An examination of rear wheel alignment and the ABS speed sensor signal should follow.
