A proper service of the rear Air Bag sensor requires all technicians to first review the Restraint Systems Service Precautions completely. The negative battery terminal cable should be severed and the system requires a 90-second wait period to stop Air Bag activation. Begin by undoing the rear door scuff plate on the right side and proceeding to remove the rear door Weather Strip RH, back door Weather Strip, back door scuff plate, lap belt outer anchor cover and front quarter trim panel assembly RH before unscrewing the air duct assembly. To eliminate the rear Air Bag sensor LH begin by disconnecting its connector followed by removing both bolts that allow extraction of this unit. Start the installation only after turning off the main switch and waiting for 90 seconds with the battery negative terminal disconnected.
