2007 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the A/C Condenser in a refrigeration system on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: The removal process requires refrigerant recovery from the system followed by separation of the No. 2 air cleaner inlet and front bumper assembly. Start by detaching the discharge hose sub-assembly after removing both bolt and O-ring then seal the opened areas with vinyl tape to stop moisture entry. The refrigerant liquid pipe A needs disconnecting by removing both its bolt and O-ring while applying vinyl tape to seal the openings. Take off the No. 1 air cleaner inlet and the hood lock release lever protector along with the hood lock assembly and the hood lock support sub-assembly. First disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector then remove the upper radiator support sub-assembly along with disconnecting the No. 2 oil cooler outlet tube sub-assembly by taking out the 2 bolts. First remove the 2 screws to detach the cooler condenser core after taking away both the radiator support cushion and the No. 1 radiator support. Installation begins with cooler condenser core attachment using two screws torqued up to 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf). When using new condenser components with replacement, apply 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.) of ND-OIL 8 or equivalent oil to the compressor. Use 2 bolts to connect the No. 2 oil cooler outlet tube sub-assembly while torquing them to 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf). Afterwards, install the radiator support cushion along with the No. 1 radiator support. Follow by installing the upper radiator support sub-assembly then connect the cooling fan ECU before installing the hood lock support sub-assembly and its components along with the hood lock assembly and hood lock release lever protector. Put in the No. 1 air cleaner inlet and create an installation of cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A following vinyl tape removal and using compressor oil on the new O-ring before securing it to the condenser core with a bolt torqued at 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). The installation of discharge hose sub-assembly requires removal of vinyl tape then application of compressor oil on new O-rings before torquing the securing bolt to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). The completion of the installation process includes attaching the front bumper assembly while also installing the No. 2 air cleaner inlet followed by charging with refrigerant and engine warming before leak inspection and final preparation for fog light aiming when necessary.
