2006 Toyota Sienna A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the A/C Condenser in a refrigeration system on 2006 Toyota Sienna?
A: The first requirement to remove the condenser demands utilization of Special Service Tool: 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080) for discharging refrigerant from the refrigeration system. The first step involves disconnecting the front fender liner LH and RH after which the front bumper cover should be removed. The procedure to disconnect discharge hose sub-assembly involves bolt and O-ring removal followed by application of vinyl tape to each opening for moisture and foreign matter prevention. Widen the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A by removing the bolt while replacing the O-ring then reseal all openings with vinyl tape before and after the removal. The procedure requires removing both bolts on air cleaner inlet No. 2 while disconnecting air cleaner inlet No. 1 by removing its bolt. Use the claw fittings to unlock the hood lock release lever protector after which remove the hood lock assembly through its 3 bolts. The first step involves disconnecting horn connectors before removing the upper portion of the radiator support sub-assembly through 5 bolts and then taking out 4 bolts each for the upper LH and upper RH of the support assembly. The removal process ends by first releasing the 3 clamps before disconnecting the connector to extract the cooler condenser core. The first step for installation involves installing the cooler condenser core by using two bolts torqued to a value of 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf). Secure the radiator support upper right-hand side by using bolts to achieve Bolt A 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) torque and Bolt B 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf), and Bolt C 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf). The installation of the radiator support upper LH begins with its 4 bolts insertion according to the same torque sequence. Install cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A by first removing the vinyl tape before applying compressor oil (ND-OIL 8 or equivalent) on a new O-ring then mounting the pipe to the condenser core with a bolt fastened to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). For the discharge hose sub-assembly installation follow the same procedure using compressor oil on a new O-ring before torquing to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). Special Service Tool: 07110-58060 (07117-58060, 07117-58070, 07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080) is to be used for refrigerant charging following a defined measurement of 780 plus or minus 30 g (27.5 plus or minus 1.06 oz.) while warming the engine and looking for refrigerant leakage.
