2007 Toyota RAV4 Yaw Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Yaw Sensor on 2007 Toyota RAV4?
A: Service and repair of the Yaw Rate Sensor starts with disconnecting the negative cable from the battery terminal while allowing at least 90 seconds to pass to avoid triggering Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. The service starts by taking off the left-side front seat assembly that may be powered or manual then moving to the left-side front door scuff plate. Detach the yaw rate sensor bracket using the bolt before disconnecting its connector and removing two bolts but leave the sensor in place on the bracket. Use two bolts to fix the yaw rate sensor assembly with a torque of 14.5 N.m (148 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf) but ensure both that the sensor remains secure and intact before reconnecting the sensor connector. The customer should connect the yaw rate sensor bracket with one bolt secured to 14.5 N.m (148 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf). Subsequently, install the front door scuff plate while completing the left front seat assembly assembly. After reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal you must perform zero point calibrations of the yaw rate and deceleration sensor and then inspect the signal of the yaw rate sensor.
