2007 Toyota RAV4 Wheel Stud Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the rear Wheel Stud on 2007 Toyota RAV4?
A: The service of the rear wheel stud starts with exhausting the rear wheel followed by the removal of left-hand side rear disc brake cylinder assembly along with the rear disc. Hold the axle shaft with Special Service Tool 09650-17011 equipped with a brass bar or equivalent tool as you remove the wheel stud meant for replacement. Place a new wheel stud inside the stud hole then add the plate washer followed by the nut on the external wheel stud end. The installation of the wheel stud requires holders like a brass bar to stabilize the rear axle during nut tightening until proper placement is achieved and then removal of the nut with plate washer. Reconnect the rear wheel along with the rear disc brake cylinder assembly from the left-hand side and the rear disc by tightening the components to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.).
