2007 Toyota Matrix Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the front wheel speed sensor on 2007 Toyota Matrix?
A: The service of the front wheel speed sensor begins after removing the front wheel together with the front fender liner from the left-hand side of the vehicle. Unfasten the speed sensor wire harness clamp attachment from both the body and speed sensor connector. The service of the front wheel speed sensor requires the removal of bolted clamp bolts that affix the sensor harness to body and shock absorber components; then detach the affected bolt and speed sensor hardware while protecting the sensor tip from contamination. The installation requires the speed sensor front LH to be secured with a bolt that needs a torque of 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) and the sensor tip must remain clean. The installation of the sensor harness clamp requires bolt "A" to be torqued to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) and bolt "B" to reach 29 N.m (296 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf). Connect the speed sensor connector along with the wire harness clamp to the body structure. Respace the front fender liner on the left-hand side and the front wheel while applying 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf) torque. The signal from the ABS speed sensor should be checked as the final step.
