2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a radiator on 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step for radiator removal starts by disjoining the cable from the negative battery terminal and spending at least ninety seconds there to stop the Air Bags from triggering. You should start by removing the under cover of the No. 1 engine before draining the engine coolant. Start by disconnecting the radiator hoses numbered No. 1 and No. 2 then move on to removing the tubes from the inlet and outlet of the No. 1 oil cooler. Disconnect the wire clamp on the reservoir assembly hose before taking out the 2 bolts to remove both components. Start by removing the fan shroud through its 2 nut and 2 clamp operation on the A/C discharge tube followed by removal of 2 bolts to disconnect wire harness brackets from the radiator. Detach the 2 tubes from the oil cooler clamp on the fan shroud followed by loosening the fan pulley mounting nuts prior to removing the drive belt and untucking the fan shroud retaining bolts. The final removal step involves disengaging the fan with associated fluid coupling, fan pulley and fan shroud through the separation of 4 fan pulley mounting nuts. The radiator installation requires you to start by securing the 8 bolts holding the 2 side supports at 12.7 Nm torque followed by attaching the 4 nuts to the brackets at 20 Nm torque before positioning the radiator to the body and fastening it with 2 nuts at 20 Nm torque and 2 bolts at 12 Nm torque. Place the assembled components of fan with fluid coupling and fan pulley and fan shroud into the required position. Install the 4 fan pulley mounting nuts temporarily and fasten the fan shroud to the frame with 3 bolts (Torque: 5.0 Nm). Fit the clamp on the fan shroud with both oil cooler tubes. Mount the drive belt before you secure the 4 fan pulley mounting nuts. Fasten the 2 wire harness brackets to the radiator wire through 2 bolts (Torque: 5.0 Nm). Attach the 2 clamps that secure the A/C discharge tube to the 2 wire harness brackets by inserting 2 nuts (Torque: 5.0 Nm). To install the radiator reservoir assembly start by putting on the grommet to the reservoir before attaching its lower section to the fan shroud using 2 bolts fastened at 8.0 Nm torque. Connect the reserve tank hose to the radiator while installing the clamp onto the wire attached to the radiator. Proceed to install the No. 1 oil cooler tubes starting with outlet then inlet followed by No. 2 and No. 1 radiator hose connect. Engine coolant gets added followed by leak inspection until the No. 1 engine under cover installation can proceed after reconnecting the negative battery cable to perform system initialization.
