2007 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2007 Toyota Highlander?
A: Service and repair of the fuel injector should begin by stopping gasoline from leakage. The service begins by removing the air cleaner cap along with air cleaner hose followed by removal of engine cover sub-assembly No. 1. The service process requires disconnecting the fuel tube sub-assembly while slowly removing the fuel delivery pipe with its attached injectors keeping them protected from accidental drops. Detach the ventilation hose No (2) then disconnect four injector connectors before removing both delivery pipe clamps and wire harnesses. The detachment of the delivery pipe with 4 injectors requires the removal of 2 bolts before extracting 2 spacers from the cylinder head. The installation requires new insulators for each injector with applied grease or gasoline to O-rings and to the delivery pipe O-ring interface. After pushing the fuel injector into place within the fuel delivery pipe, perform a twisting movement before installing all 4 units while confirming both smooth movement and avoiding O-ring twisting. Replace any non-functioning injector with a new one. Place two spacers on the cylinder head before placing the delivery pipe with four installed injectors facing downward. To set the delivery pipe temporarily you must first attach 2 bolts which maintain the position while keeping the injector connector facing outward before tightening each bolt to 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). The installation procedure requires you to establish the fuel tube sub-assembly connection followed by leakage inspection which must be finalized with engine cover sub-assembly No. 1 and air cleaner cap along with the air cleaner hose installation.
