The first step to install the 2AZ-FE fuel injector includes attaching a new insulator to it while using grease or gasoline to lubricate a new O-ring before placing it onto the injector body. A thin layer of grease or gasoline must be applied to both the delivery pipe contact points with the O-ring. Insert the fuel injector through the delivery fuel pipe while twisting both ways forward and backward until secure but avoid twisting the O-ring. Verify smooth operation of the injector after installation but reinstall it with a new O-ring if it fails to rotate properly while keeping the injector connector in a downward position. The delivery pipe assembly needs two spacers to be mounted on the cylinder head while the pipe position occurs with injectors facing out before loosely applying bolts to secure it. The orientation of 4 injector connectors should be toward the outside before tightening the securing bolts to 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). After connecting the 4 injector connectors, mount the 2 clamps and wire harness then install the ventilation hose No. 2. The technician must perform the next fuel tube assembly connection then install the air cleaner cap assembly before checking for fuel leaks to complete installation of the engine cover assembly No. 1.

Work to prevent gasoline from spilling out.

The O-ring may be incorrectly installed and should be replaced.

Disconnect the 6 fuel injector connectors, remove the 4 bolts and 2 fuel delivery pipes with the 6 fuel injectors, ensuring not to drop the injectors.

Place the two spacers on the cylinder head, position the delivery pipe with the four injectors on the cylinder head, and temporarily install the two bolts to hold the delivery pipe in place.

Remove the air cleaner cap with the air cleaner hose, then take off the engine cover sub-assembly No.1.

Remove the 2 bolts to take out the delivery pipe along with the 4 injectors, and then remove the 2 spacers from the cylinder head.

Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly and carefully remove the fuel delivery pipe with the injectors.

Prevent gasoline from spilling out.

Check that the injector turns smoothly; if it does not, reinstall it with a new O-ring.

Remove the 2 bolts to take out the delivery pipe along with the 4 injectors.

Place new grommets on each fuel injector, apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to new O-rings, and install them on each injector.

It should face downward.

Place new grommets on each fuel injector, apply spindle oil or gasoline to new O-rings, and ensure the fuel injectors are pushed into the fuel delivery pipe without twisting the O-rings.

Remove the front wiper arm head cap, both front wiper arms (LH and RH), the cowl top ventilator louver sub assembly, the windshield wiper motor assembly, and the cowl top to cowl brace inner No. 1 by taking out the 2 bolts.
