Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2007 Toyota Camry?
A: Service and repair of the Clutch Master Cylinder begins with following Restraint Systems and Service Precautions and disconnecting the negative battery cable before draining brake fluid from the system. Remove the air cleaner cap subassembly, air cleaner case subassembly, windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies (LH and RH), front fender to cowl side seals (LH and RH), cowl top ventilator louver subassembly, windshield wiper link assembly, cowl top panel outer subassembly, brake booster assembly, front door scuff plate (LH), cowl side trim subassembly (LH), lower instrument panel finish panels (for both TMC and TMMK Made), No. 1 instrument panel subassembly, and instrument cluster finish panel. To disconnect the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis remove its clip and pin followed by draining brake fluid one more time. Connect the clutch reservoir tube for detachment by sliding its clip with pliers while using tool 09023-00101 to detach the clutch line. Both nuts and the gasket need removal to take out the clutch master cylinder assembly. The new gasket receives its place on the clutch master cylinder assembly before installation of the 2 nuts (torque to 12 Nm) while connecting the clutch line (torque to 15 Nm) and attaching the clutch reservoir tube that should not be twisted and its green mark should be positioned appropriately. Connect the clevis to the clutch pedal with a new clip using the pin which should be inserted from the left side of the vehicle after applying MP grease to the contact surfaces between the pin and clevis bushing. Reinstall the brake booster assembly, combination meter assembly (for both TMC and TMMK Made), instrument cluster finish panel, lower instrument panel finish panels (for both Smart Key System and without), No. 1 instrument panel subassembly, lower instrument panel finish panels (LH for both TMC and TMMK Made), cowl side trim subassembly (LH), front door scuff plate (LH), cowl top panel outer subassembly, windshield wiper link assembly, cowl top ventilator louver subassembly, front fender to cowl side seals (LH and RH), windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies (LH and RH), air cleaner case subassembly, air cleaner cap subassembly, and reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Check the clutch pipe line pressure by filling the brake fluid into the reservoir while searching for leaks between clutch and brake components. Inspect clutch fluid content and verify that fluid reaches proper levels and adjust the clutch pedal assembly for maximum efficiency.
