Master Cylinder

First connect the negative terminal cable to remove power and drain brake fluid. First remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and then take out the air cleaner case sub-assembly. First detach the windshield wiper assemblies from both left and right sides before you remove front fender to cowl side seals on both sides of the vehicle. Pick first the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and windshield wiper link assembly before removing the cowl top panel outer sub-assembly. Following these steps you should remove both brake booster assemblies as well as front door scuff plates and cowl side trim sub-assemblies and lower instrument panel finish panels from vehicles made by TMC and TMMK. Proceed with removing the No.1 instrument panel sub-assembly together with the lower instrument panel finish panels which do or do not feature the Smart Key System and the instrument cluster finish No.1 panel and combination meter assemblies suitable for TMC and TMMK vehicles. To disconnect the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis, remove the clip along with pin until the rod disconnects. Then, disconnect the clutch reservoir tube by using pliers to slide the clip off. A container should receive any escaping fluid as you perform this step. Disconnection of the clutch line requires Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while using a container to receive the fluid. The clutch master cylinder assembly can be taken off by removing two nuts and the assembly components and then extracting the gasket from the clutch master cylinder assembly.

You need to start the Clutch Master Cylinder removal process by disconnecting the negative battery cable and draining all brake fluid yet remove the windshield wiper link assembly next. The maintenance requires owners to remove both the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and air cleaner case sub-assembly. First disconnect both left and right windshield wiper components and after that detach the front fender assemblies leading to the cowl on both sides. Disassemble the vehicle by taking away the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and both windshield wiper link assembly and cowl top panel outer sub-assembly. Begin the task by taking out the brake booster assembly followed by disassembly of the front door scuff plate on the left side and cowl side trim sub-assembly on the left side. During TMC vehicle repair steps begin by removing the left side lower instrument panel finish panel together with the No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly and lower instrument panel finish panel. Summer removal of the left-side lower instrument panel finish panel applies to TMMK produced cars along with the combination meter assembly. To disconnect the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis remove its clip and pin and the clutch reservoir tube requires removing its clip with pliers. Place a suitable container beneath the fluid to capture escaping liquid. Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 should be used to disconnect the clutch line while placing a container under the fluid stream. To finish the process remove the clutch master cylinder assembly by removing its two nuts and sealing gasket.

Inspect and adjust the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

Disconnect the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis by removing the clip and pin, then drain brake fluid again.

Install the brake booster assembly, combination meter assembly (for TMC and TMMK made), instrument cluster finish panel No. 1, lower instrument panel finish panels (with and without Smart Key System), No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly, lower instrument panel finish panel LH (for TMC and TMMK made), cowl side trim sub-assembly LH, front door scuff plate LH, cowl top panel outer sub-assembly, windshield wiper link assembly, cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly, front fender to cowl side seals (LH and RH), windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies (LH and RH), air cleaner case sub-assembly, and air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
