2008 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the clutch master cylinder assembly on 2008 Toyota Camry?
A: The installation of the clutch master cylinder assembly requires a new gasket that needs to be followed by securing the wheels with 2 nuts using a torque of 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). You must install the clutch line through Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while applying 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) torque. The installation of the clutch reservoir tube to the clutch master cylinder requires correct attachment of the clip without tube twisting while ensuring the green indicator stays in position. The mechanic should apply MP grease to the clevis bushing pin contact surfaces before installing the new clevis to the clutch pedal through the left-side vehicle direction with fresh clips. Proceed to install the brake booster assembly, combination meter assembly (for TMC Made and TMMK Made), instrument cluster finish No.1 panel, lower instrument panel finish panel (with and without Smart Key System), No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly, lower instrument panel finish panel LH (for TMC Made and TMMK Made), cowl side trim sub-assembly LH, front door scuff plate LH, cowl top panel outer sub-assembly, windshield wiper link assembly, cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly, front fender to cowl side seals (LH and RH), windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies (LH and RH), air cleaner case sub-assembly, and air cleaner cap sub-assembly. To complete the procedure, start by connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal then bleed the clutch pipe line while filling the brake reservoir with brake fluid. Perform a check for any fluid leaks in both systems and make sure to use 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf) torque. Check and adjust all necessary components of the clutch pedal sub-assembly.
