2007 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the clutch slave cylinder on 2007 Toyota Camry?
A: Users should begin clutch slave cylinder repair by disconnecting the negative battery lead followed by air cleaner parts removal and clutch line disconnection. It requires the uninstallation of the clutch accumulator bracket and release cylinder heat insulator together with the air cleaner inlet assembly and clutch accumulator bracket. Succeedingly work to detach the clutch accumulator assembly and clutch release cylinder assembly after removing their two bolts. To disassemble the clutch release cylinder kit begin by removing boot components followed by push rod and piston and spring units from cylinder body keeping inside undamaged and removing bleeder plug cap from bleeder plug. Selectively remove the bleeder plug that belongs to the cylinder body. Install the bleeder plug with 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 inch lbs.) torque to the cylinder body before putting on the bleeder plug cap followed by a new spring and lithium soap base glycol greased piston then reenter the cylinder body with proper maintenance of the inside. Mount the cylinder push rod together with its boot to the body enclosure. Assemble the clutch release cylinder along with its bracket using 2 bolts with 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) torque and then install the clutch accumulator assembly before connecting the clutch line followed by release cylinder heat insulator attachment and clutch accumulator bracket installation. The technician must bleed the clutch line through brake fluid added to the reservoir followed by inspecting for fluid leakage throughout the clutch system. The last procedure includes installing the air cleaner case subassembly followed by the air cleaner cap subassembly and air cleaner inlet assembly while checking the fluid level in the reservoir before reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
