2006 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to overhaul the clutch slave cylinder on 2006 Toyota Camry?
A: The first step for clutch slave cylinder overhaul requires users to detach the flexible hose tube from the clutch release cylinder by unfastening its bolt and disassembling the tube clamp bracket while the clutch-removal service tool (09023-00101) assists to disconnect the two flexible hose tubes into a fluid container. The process starts by removing the clutch accumulator assembly after unfastening both bolts and flexible hose bracket No.2 then unfastening the 2 nuts. Remove the clutch release cylinder assembly through bolt removal of its two mounting screws. The installation process of the clutch release cylinder kit requires users to first remove the boot and push rod and piston and spring from the cylinder body in a way that avoids breaking the cylinder body interior. Additionally users must remove the bleeder plug cap from the bleeder plug. Fit the bleeder plug on the release cylinder and tighten it to 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in.-lbf). The installation order begins with bleeding the clutch release cylinder by returning the bleeder plug cap then adding a fresh spring and applying lithium soap base glycol grease to the piston before placing the piston followed by the push rod and boot onto the cylinder body. The clutch release cylinder assembly receives its installation with two bolts following torques at 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). The clutch accumulator assembly requires installation using two nuts and a bolt which need to be torqued to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Afterward, install flexible hose bracket No.2 using its two bolts, with Bolt A requiring 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf) torque and Bolt B requiring 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf). Make use of Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to join the clutch release cylinder to the flexible hose tube before installing the tube clamp bracket with a bolt and torque value of 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Complete the brake reservoir tank with clutch fluid then bleed the clutch system while applying 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf) and verify fluid leakage before inspecting the reservoir level.
