2005 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder Assembly on 2005 Toyota Camry?
A: The Clutch Release Cylinder Assembly service starts with disconnecting the flexible hose tube by removing the bolt and separating the tube clamp bracket followed by using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to disconnect the 2 flexible hose tubes into a catch container. Service the Clutch Release Cylinder Assembly through a process which starts with removing two bolts and bracket No.2 flexible hose and subsequently uninstalling two nuts then extracting the assembly. Remove the clutch release cylinder assembly through bolting removal from its two attachment points. The clutch release cylinder kit requires users to remove thematically the boot and push rod as well as piston and spring from the cylinder body with caution for preserving interior components. Insert the bleeder plug into its port after removing its cap then tighten it to 8.3 Nm torque (85 kgf-cm, 73 in.-lbf). For installing the clutch release cylinder kit replace the bleeder plug cap then add the new spring and apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the piston while you reposition the boot push rod and piston inside the cylinder body. The clutch release cylinder requires installation using two bolts with 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf) torque. Afterwards, install the clutch accumulator with two nuts and one bolt torqued to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Complete the assembly with flexible hose bracket No.2 through two bolts where A torque uses 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf) while Bolt B needs 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf). The clutch release cylinder requires Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 for connection to the flexible hose tube. This should be done with a torque of 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). Then install the tube clamp bracket with its bolt secured at 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). The brake reservoir tank requires clutch fluid before performing a clutch system bleed using a torque of 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf). The technician needs to check for fluid leakage and verify the correct fluid level in the reservoir.
