2007 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2007 Toyota Avalon?
A: Start the service process of the Crankshaft Position Sensor by unplugging the battery cable from the negative terminal. The service begins with fan and generator V belt removal followed by generator assembly separation along with disconnecting cooler compressor assembly. After disconnecting the sensor connector you should remove its securing bolt while performing the sensor removal process. Place a thin layer of engine oil on the O-ring of the crankshaft position sensor before installing it with the bolt while tightening to 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) and securing the sensor connector. The next step is to install the fan and generator V belt before adding both the generator assembly and then the cooler compressor assembly back. After reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal some systems identify proper functions by performing system initialization because they need this procedure after cable removal.
