2007 Toyota Avalon Brake Master Cylinder Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the brake master cylinder on 2007 Toyota Avalon?
A: The first step when servicing the brake master cylinder involves draining brake fluid and flushing off all fluid residue that comes into contact with painted surfaces immediately. Once you remove the air cleaner assembly disconnect the level warning switch connector. Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 enables users to disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the brake master with plate cylinder sub-assembly followed by removing the 2 nuts to extract the sub-assembly. Install the master cylinder sub-assembly with its 2-way by securing it with 2 nuts which require a torque of 13 N m (130 kgf/cm, 9 ft. lbs.). Reconnect the level warning switch connector while employing Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to join 6 brake tubes to the master cylinder sub-assembly and torquing them to 15 N m (155 kgf/cm, 11 ft. lbs.). You should first add brake fluid to the reservoir before performing master cylinder bleeding and brake line evacuation. After that replace the air cleaner then verify the reservoir fluid content and investigate for fluid seepage.
