2007 Toyota Avalon Yaw Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Yaw Sensor on 2007 Toyota Avalon?
A: Service professionals must start Yaw Rate Sensor repairs by verifying that only undamaged sensors get used alongside a proper orientation of the sensor and by blocking foreign objects between the yaw rate sensor bracket and body before beginning work. The service starts with removing the negative battery terminal cable before dismantling the console upper rear panel sub-assembly and console box assembly. You must disconnect the connector of the yaw rate sensor followed by removing two bolts which secure the sensor itself. During installation fasten the yaw rate sensor to its position using two bolts which must be torqued up to 14 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf) while reconnecting the yaw rate sensor connector. Install the console box assembly together with the console upper rear panel sub-assembly before reattaching the cable to the negative battery terminal. Zero-point adjustment of the yaw rate sensor must be performed before inspecting ABS and VSC warning lights and noting that system initialization might be necessary after connecting the battery.
