  A: You can start servicing or repairing the parking brake cable by first uninstalling the rear wheel before you disconnect the back disc brake caliper assembly LH by taking out its two bolts while leaving the flexible hose intact. The service procedure begins with removing the rear disc followed by removal of the parking brake shoe return tension spring then the parking brake shoe strut compression spring before taking out the parking brake shoe strut LH and parking brake shoe. The service team must remove the console upper rear panel sub-assembly alongside the console panel sub-assembly upper, console upper panel garnish No. 1, console upper panel garnish No. 2 and the console box assembly rear. Detach the parking brake cable assembly No. 3 through backing plate bolt separation along with the assembly bolt and clip from the parking brake equalizer. The installation process starts with attaching the parking brake cable assembly No. 3 equipped with the clip to the parking brake equalizer while securing it with 4 bolts at 13 Nm (127 kgf/cm, 9 ft. lbs.) followed by securing 2 bolts to the backing plate at 8.0 Nm (82 kgf/cm, 71 in. lbs.).
