How to remove the parking brake cable assembly on 2008 Toyota 4Runner?

The beginning point for parking brake cable assembly removal consists of wheel removal. Follow this step by disconnecting the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH through removal of its two bolts without detaching the flexible hose from the caliper. At this point remove the rear disc followed by disassembly of the parking brake shoe return tension spring together with the parking brake shoe strut compression spring. The team should discard the parking brake shoe strut on the left-hand side and the parking brake shoe assembly next. First disassemble the console upper rear panel sub-assembly and proceed to remove the console panel sub-assembly upper which leads to the removal of both the No. 1 console upper panel garnish and No. 2 console upper panel garnish. The final step in the procedure is to detach Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3 by taking out the clips from the parking brake equalizer and all 4 assembly bolts plus the 2 backing plate bolts.
