2005 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the crankshaft position sensor on 2005 Toyota Tundra?
A: Service begins with removing the engine under cover, generator and cooler compressor by disassembling the suction hose sub-assy bolt then the connector followed by unbolted separation of the compressor from the V-ribbed belt tensioner. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector when you follow by removing the bolt which allows you access to the crankshaft position sensor. Following bolt installation into the crankshaft position sensor you should apply engine oil to its O-ring before torquing it to 10 Nm (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf). After that connect the crankshaft position sensor connector. Position the cooler compressor assy using 4 bolts that require torques to 25 Nm (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf) along with connecting the cooler compressor assy connector before attaching the suction hose sub-assy through its bolt while achieving 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) torque. The last procedure involves the installation of the engine under cover and the generator.
