2006 Toyota Tundra Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the crankshaft position sensor on 2006 Toyota Tundra?
A: Starting the crankshaft position sensor repair process requires several steps including engine under cover and generator removal followed by cooler compressor disassembly using bolt removal to split the suction hose sub-assembly and disconnect the cooler compressor assembly connector until lastly removing 4 bolts from the cooler compressor to V-ribbed belt tensioner. Disable the crankshaft position sensor by unfastening its connector then unholster the bolt and remove the sensor. After applying a small amount of engine oil to the crankshaft position sensor O-ring apply, reassemble it using the bolt while torquing it up to 10 Nm (102 kgf.cm) (7 ft.lbf) then connect the crankshaft position sensor connector. The installation process requires fitting the cooler compressor assembly with 4 bolts at 25 Nm (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf) torque value while connecting the cooler compressor assembly connector followed by suction hose sub-assembly installation with a torques bolt to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). Reinstall the generator followed by reinstallation of the engine under the cover.
