2005 Toyota Solara Air Bag Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor Assembly Center on 2005 Toyota Solara?
A: Begin the Air Bag Sensor Assembly Center replacement task by disconnecting the battery negative terminal then waiting for a minimum of 90 seconds before working on the replacement process. Begin by removing the front door scuff plates (both left and right sides) together with the cowl side trim sub-assemblies (also left and right) and the instrument panel finish lower panel (left side), shift lever knob sub-assembly, console box carpet, console upper rear panel sub-assembly, console box sub-assembly rear with console door, console panel sub-assembly upper, instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No.1, instrument panel finish lower panel (right side) and console box front. First disconnect the holder with connectors from the air bag sensor assembly center then remove it along with the rear air ducts No.1 and No.2. Install the new air bag sensor assembly center while checking that SRS wiring stays clear from other components and maintaining a distance from pinches. Use the three bolts temporarily to maintain installation and tighten them to 17.5 Nm (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf). Proceed by connecting the holder to its connectors before checking that installation parts remain tightly secured and validating proper placement of the water-proof sheet. Complete the procedure by reconnecting the battery negative terminal and then start the system initialization and check for the SRS warning light.
