First disconnect the right-hand and left-hand tie rod ends while the following step requires removal of the No. 2 intermediate shaft assembly and clamp plate through bolt extraction. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-12701 to disconnect the devices used for pressure feed and return tubes functions. The PS rack and pinion assembly can be removed after removing the bracket's solitary bolt, nut and stud bolt followed by two-set bolts, a nut, washer and PS rack and pinion assembly before taking out the grommet and bracket.
