How to replace the Seat Position Air Bag Sensor on 2005 Toyota Camry?

Begin the replacement of the Seat Position Air Bag Sensor (from July 2003) by following Air Bag Systems service precautions while disconnecting the battery negative terminal. Remove the front seat assembly LH followed by taking off the reclining power seat switch knob yet keeping the slide & vertical power seat switch knob intact when needed. To replace the Seat Position Air Bag Sensor (from July 2003) the technician must first remove the below parts from manual seats: reclining adjuster release handle with vertical seat adjuster knob cap and vertical seat adjuster knob and front seat cushion shield LH. The seat slide position sensor protector should be removed next so you can disconnect the connector linking to the seat position Air Bag sensor. The torx(R) socket wrench (T30) should be used to separate both the torx(R) screw and the seat position Air Bag sensor. During new seat position Air Bag sensor replacement maintain a 90 second disconnect of battery negative terminal while simultaneously having ignition switch turned off. The sensor should be installed using a 1 mm (0.039 in.) feeler gauge without damage and with safety precautions for SRS wiring and other vehicle components. Position the seat position Air Bag sensor at a distance of 0.6 mm to 2 mm from the seat rail while torquing the torx(R) screw to 8.0 N.m. Open the connector to check proper clearance before making sure the connector remains safely attached. The final installation requires the front seat assembly's left-hand side and a test of the SRS warning indicator.
