How to replace the Seat Position Air Bag Sensor on 2004 Toyota Camry?

Begin the replacement of the Seat Position Air Bag Sensor by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery then removing the front seat assembly (power or manual type). When working with power seats the technician should remove the reclining power seat switch knob and slide and vertical power seat switch knobs followed by front seat cushion shield inner No.1 LH and front seat cushion shield LH. During replacement of the Seat Position Air Bag Sensor, manual seats require the removal of reclining adjuster release handle LH along with vertical seat adjuster knob cap and vertical seat adjuster knob and front seat cushion shield LH. First detach the seat slide position sensor protector from the seat position Air Bag sensor before disconnecting the connector and using a T30 torx socket wrench to unscrew the torx screw attaching the sensor. Install the new seat position Air Bag sensor with the engine switch set to off state and disconnect the battery terminal for a period of ninety seconds. The seat position Air Bag sensor should be separated from the seat rail by 0.6 mm (0.023 in.) to 2 mm (0.079 in.) through the use of a 1 mm (0.039 in.) feeler gauge. Tighten the torx screw to reach 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). Then check that the clearance meets specs. Reconnect the connector to the seat position Air Bag sensor while checking if the installation shows no signs of looseness. Reinstall the front seat assembly and inspect the SRS warning light as the last step.
