• Q: How to service and repair the throttle body on 2005 Scion xB?

  A: Service and repair of the throttle body starts with draining the engine coolant. To remove the air cleaner assembly first disconnect the mass air flow meter connector together with the VSV connector and wire harness clamp and fuel vapor feed hoses No. 1 and No. 2 and ventilation hose. Afterwards unlock the 2 clamp hooks and remove the hose clamp and air cleaner cap and filter element before uninstalling the 4 bolts securing the air cleaner case. Unfastening the accelerator control cable assembly nut will be the following step.
