- Q: How to replace the front Sway Bar Kit on 2005 Scion xB?A: You must begin sway bar kit replacement by taking off the front wheels together with the hood sub-assembly and suspending the engine. First use Special Service Tool 09628-00011 to divide the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No.1 LH before completing the same procedure for the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No.1 RH. The procedure requires sequential removal of the front sway bar kit along with power steering link assembly, pressure feed tube assembly, and front suspension crossmember sub-assembly. Finally, extract the sway bar kit by unfastening 4 bolts and 2 bushings from front sway bar bracket No.1 LH and RH. When fitting the new front sway bar kit keep the brackets and bushings in position and fasten it with 4 bolts applying 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft. lbs.) torque and position both bushings with the slit facing behind the vehicle and outside of each paint line. Obtain the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly and pressure feed tube assembly and power steering link assembly before installing the front sway bar kit. Then attach the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No.1 LH and RH which applies to both sides. To complete the process you must install the front wheels at 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) before reinstalling the hood sub-assembly for subsequent inspection and adjustment of both the hood sub-assembly and front wheel alignment.
