    A: The procedure to replace Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3 begins by removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly (M/T transaxle) and the console box rear cover and console box carpet and the console box assembly rear. Begin by loosening wire adjusting nut No. 1 and afterward remove the front floor panel brace through the removal of 2 bolts. The first operation requires removing the front exhaust pipe assembly and the front floor heat insulator No. 2 by uninstalling their 3 bolts. The Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3 can be separated by eliminating 4 bolts which will disconnect it from both the body and the parking brake equalizer. Following tool usage of Special Service Tool: 09718-00010 remove the rear wheel and rear brake drum sub-assembly and front brake shoe. Use the mentioned tool to detach the rear brake automatic adjust lever LH before removing the parking brake shoe from the assembly. The backing plate needs the Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3 removed after separating it from its position. Place Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3 between the parking brake cable equalizer then attach it using 4 bolts with 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm) torque setting. Follow this step by fastening the assembly to the backing plate with a bolt that needs to be tightened to 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 inch lbs.) while applying high-temperature grease. Proceed to install the rear brake shoe with Special Service Tool: 09718-00010 while following it with the rear brake shoe return spring and then install the rear brake automatic adjust lever LH using Special Service Tool: 09718-0010 09718-00010. The first step is to install the front brake shoe followed by a check of the rear drum brake installation before putting on the rear brake drum sub-assembly. Set the rear drum brake shoe clearance before installing the rear wheel with a torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). Fasten wire adjusting nut No. 1 loosely before installing both floor heat insulators No. 2 with their 3 bolts secured to 5.5 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.). Plug in the front exhaust pipe assembly to the floor panel brace front by using two bolts for installation. The final inspection should include checking of parking brake lever travel followed by an exhaust leakage test.
