After disconnecting the speed sensor connector users should remove the bolt first and then the clip and speedometer driven gear before extracting the sensor O-ring. Install the sensor first by applying ATF on the new O-ring followed by attaching it to the VSS and then mount the speedometer driven gear along with the clip while fastening the sensor assembly with a bolt torqued to 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 inch lbs.). First reconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector then install the ECM bracket with bolt torque at 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs.). After this install the nut to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) before installing the ECM and ECM case with 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 inch lbs.).
