2003 Toyota Sequoia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Brake Master Cylinder on 2003 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Service and repair of the Brake Master Cylinder begins with drawing fluid through a syringe while immediately cleaning paint surface contact with brake fluid. Proceed by disconnecting the level warning switch connector followed immediately by the two master cylinder pressure sensor connectors and then remove the wire harness bracket using a clip remover. Disconnect the two brake lines from the master cylinder using Special Service Tool: 09020-38200 and apply 19.5 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) torque force. A torque of 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft. lbs.) will allow you to remove the two nuts and wire harness bracket for you to finally pull out the master cylinder from the brake booster. To install the brake system follow the removal procedures in reverse order and replace the brake fluid in the reservoir and perform brake system bleeding before checking for potential leaks. Replacements of the master cylinder assembly combined with the master cylinder pressure sensor will require zero point calibration for the steering angle sensor as well as the master cylinder pressure sensor and yaw rate sensors and deceleration sensors.
