2002 Toyota Sequoia Brake Master Cylinder Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Brake Master Cylinder on 2002 Toyota Sequoia?
A: One should start Brake Master Cylinder repairs by disconnecting the reservoir after setting screw removal and gentle pull-out while maintaining set screw torque at 1.5 Nm (15 kgf-cm, 13 inch lbs.). After removing the strainer and cap from the reservoir proceed to take out 2 grommets, the seal, and 2 master cylinder pressure sensors for installation at 25 Nm torque (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft. lbs.). Inspection and cleaning of all individual components with compressed air leads to cylinder examination for wear signs or damage. Cylinder assembly replacement becomes necessary when such damage occurs. Reassemble the parts by following the reverse steps of disassembly and apply lithium soap base glycol grease according to the arrow markings on the rubber components.
