2003 Toyota Camry Speed Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Vehicle Speed Sensor on 2003 Toyota Camry?
A: Begin the Vehicle Speed Sensor replacement process by removing the battery before going on to remove the engine cover sub-assy No.1 and then the air cleaner assy along with air cleaner hose No.1. To remove the NT speed sensor disconnect its connector while removing the retaining bolt that takes it away. The NC sensor replacement requires separating the speed sensor connector followed by bolt removal to extract the speed sensor. The installation of the NC sensor requires soaking an O-ring in ATF and then inserting the speed sensor with its bolt before tightening it to 11.3 Nm (115 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.) and checking that the manufacturer's name matches correctly for speed sensor connector installation. The series of steps must be repeated for the NT sensor. The staff should reinstall air cleaner hose No.1 then torque the air cleaner assy to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) before lastly placing the engine cover sub-assy No.1.
