2003 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Front LH Speed Sensor on 2003 Toyota Camry?
A: Start the Front LH Speed Sensor replacement by taking off the front wheel and front fender liner located on the left-hand side. Begin by disconnecting the speed sensor connector along with the clamp before removing two bolts that connect the sensor harness to the body and shock absorber. Dismantle the bolt while taking caution to prevent foreign matter from sticking to the sensor tip during removal of the speed sensor FR LH. According to the installation procedure: first mount the speed sensor FR LH with its bolt while tightening the bolt to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) and verify the sensor tip remains unsoiled. Security bolts "A" and "B" should be tightened to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) for Bolt A while Bolt B requires 18.8 Nm (192 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). First attach the clamp to the knuckle before you connect the speed sensor connector along with the clamp. Install the front fender liner to the left hand side along with the front wheel before torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). A complete ABS speed sensor signal check must be performed as the last step.
