2002 Toyota Camry Speed Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Vehicle Speed Sensor on 2002 Toyota Camry?
A: The first step to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor demands removal of the battery and engine cover sub-assy No. 1 followed by the air cleaner assy and air cleaner hose No. 1. Disconnect the speed sensor connector of the NT sensor before removing the bolt and speed sensor. The procedure for the NC sensor requires you to disconnect its speed sensor connector before removing both bolt and speed sensor. To install the NC sensor first apply ATF to an O-ring then attach the speed sensor using the bolt before torquing it to 11.3 Nm (115 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.) while verifying the manufacturer name and finally connecting the speed sensor connector. To install the NT sensor, lubricate an O-ring with ATF then put together the speed sensor along with bolt before applying torque at 11.3 Nm (115 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.) and checking the manufacturer's name along with connecting the speed sensor connector. The service procedure concludes with reinstalling air cleaner hose No. 1 and air cleaner assy at 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) then engine cover sub-assy No. 1.
