• Q: How to replace the Throttle W/Throttle Body Assy on 2003 Toyota 4Runner?

  A: The first step to replace the Throttle W/Motor Body Assy requires you to drain engine coolant and unfasten the V-bank cover through its two nuts. To begin removal of the air cleaner assembly start by disconnecting Ventilation Hose No.2 followed by the process of unconnecting the vacuum hose and mass air flow meter connector and unclamping the wire harness and unclipping the hose clamps while removing the 2 bolts. Detach Water By-Pass Hose No.5 as well as Water By-Pass Hose No.4. Install the new throttle w/motor body by disconnecting the throttle motor connector before removing the 4 bolts then installing the throttle w/motor body with its gasket and fastening the 4 bolts tightly to 11 N.m (112 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf). The installation process starts with applying new components and torqueing the 4 bolts to 11 N.m (112 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf). After that, reattach the throttle motor connector. Reinstall the V-bank cover after installing the Ventilation Hose No.2 by tightening 2 nuts to 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf).
