  A: The first step for servicing the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor consists of disconnecting the oil cooler pipe. First disconnect the connector from the park/neutral position switch and then proceed to remove the lock washer before taking out the nut and bolt and finally the switch itself. Start by inserting the park/neutral position switch along with bolt into place and tighten them to 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.), then secure the new lock plate with nut under 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 inch lbs.) before you bend the lock plate claws to immobilize the nut. Check the engine starting restriction while the shift lever remains between N and P positions. Further adjust the park/neutral position if starting occurs outside of those positions. And finally, connect the oil cooler pipe before filling ATF then checking fluid levels and performing a test drive of the vehicle.
