Service and repair of the front heater unit starts with cooling unit removal and radiator engine coolant drainage but keep in mind all fluid removal is not required. To disconnect the water hoses from heater radiator pipes use pliers to twist the claw of the hose clips while sliding them toward the end of the hoses until release. Install the water hose onto the heater radiator pipe up to the second ridge while placing the hose clip in its proper position. Start by uninstalling all elements of the instrument panel and reinforcement followed by the defroster nozzle and heater to register duct until you reach the heater unit which requires disconnection of the mode control servomotor connector and room temperature sensor aspirator hose for auto A/C models as well as unfastening the two nuts fixing the heater unit. The installation steps run in the exact opposite sequence of removal steps.
