Unclip or twist off the old knob as you loosen a small set screw after which slide the boot down to reveal the threads. Confirm the new knob or adapter fits, thread it on manually, align the shift pattern and loosen the collar. Re-insert the boot and do a couple of quick test drives and make sure all the gates fit properly, and the upgraded Shift Knob is comfortable in your Toyota mile after mile.
