    Q: How to install an A/C Compressor on Toyota Prius?
    A:
    The installation of an electric inverter compressor requires oil inspection followed by a helium gas (inert gas) service valve discharge and subsequent draining of specific oil amounts from the new compressor determined by (100 + 15 cc) - (remaining oil in the removed compressor assembly). Treat the cooler handling steps with care when fitting the components because surplus oil affects thermal exchange and triggers refrigerant breakdown or disruptive vibrations risks. The use of ND-OIL 11 compressor oil remains the only acceptable option for oil maintenance of insulation performance when the original compressor contains insufficient oil. The first two compressor mounting bolts need to be provisionally installed prior to achieving 25 Nm torque before tightening the remaining bolt to match the same 25 Nm torque. Tighten the 3 wire harness clamps and connect their components while wearing insulated gloves by securing the green-colored lock on the connector. Secure a new O-ring and fitting surface of the electric inverter compressor with compressor oil then attach the O-ring to the suction hose followed by bolt tightening at 9.8 Nm. Use compressor oil to maintain a new O-ring and fitting surfaces on the discharge hose before its installation and bolt securing at 9.8 Nm. After battery reconnect the operator must perform initialization due to system requirements while connecting the cable to the negative terminal and installing the service plug grip. The last installation steps include putting on the rear No. 3 floor board, deck floor box rear and rear No. 2 floor board then charging the refrigerant and preparing the compressor for operation before performing refrigerant leak detection.
