The wheel hub service and repair process starts with removing the front wheel then disconnecting the flexible hose to the
Steering Knuckle before taking out the 2 bolts and washers of the caliper which needs secure support. Start by detaching the pear-shaped flange through hammering with a screwdriver while using a snap ring expander to extract the snapping ring and subsequently undoing six nuts and washers while holding the studs with temporary nuts to shield their threads. Striking bolt heads with a brass bar hammered against them will ease out the nuts' removal along with cone washers before the flange with its gasket can be separated. To remove the axle hub with disc use Special Service Tool: 09607-60020 to take off the lock washer followed by the lock nut and adjusting nut. When performing this operation protect the ABS speed sensor rotor and oil seal from damage. Take out the bearing along with the claw washer from the axle hub. For installation, place the axle hub with disc onto the steering knuckle, install the outer bearing and claw washer, then adjust the preload by installing the adjusting nut and tightening it with Special Service Tool: 09607-60020 to a torque of 59 Nm (600 kgf-cm, 43 ft. lbs.), turning the axle hub several times to settle the bearing, loosening the adjusting nut until it can rotate by hand, and then retightening it to a torque of 4.3 - 6.5 Nm (44 - 66 kgf-cm, 38 - 57 inch lbs.), checking for looseness on the bearing and measuring the preload, which should be 42 - 67 N (4.3 - 6.8 kgf, 9.5 - 15.0 lbs.) at starting. Secure the lock washer followed by the lock nut with 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.) torque and ensure the axle hub rotates freely without looseness and check the preload for any adjustment requirements. After installation, bend the lock washer teeth to secure the lock nut. Secure the lock nut using proper installation of the lock washer teeth. The axle hub must receive a new gasket before adding the flange along with 6 cone washers, washers, new nuts which should reach a torque value of 33 Nm (335 kgf-cm, 24 ft. lbs.). Check the snap ring clearance to be below 0.2 mm (0.008 inch) before installing a new snap ring assisted by a snap ring expander and a new grease cap. The installation process requires
Brake Caliper placement with washers then tightening the two bolts to 123 Nm (1,250 kgf-cm, 91 ft. lbs.) torque followed by connecting the flexible hose and bolt at the steering knuckle after tightening to 28 Nm (290 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.) torque then reinstallation of the front wheel with a torque of 131 Nm (1,340 kgf-cm, 97 ft. lbs.) before inspecting ABS speed sensor signal.
