Toyota Land Cruiser Parking Assist Distance Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove the parking assist distance sensor (for Front) on Toyota Land Cruiser?
A:
The park assist / monitoring: ultrasonic sensor (for front) should be removed by first removing the front fender splash shield sub-assembly LH followed by front fender splash shield sub-assembly RH. The service process begins by taking out the upper radiator support seal after which technicians remove the radiator grille assembly and then the front bumper cover. The removal process continues with cutting off the NO. 4 engine room wire. One should use a finger to push down the release lever of the NO. 1 ultrasonic sensor until one claw releases while detaching the opposite claw; the sensor has distinctive claws between the top and bottom. The removal of the front bumper cover requires removing its two claws which leads to extraction of the NO. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer.
Q: How to install the Parking Assist Distance Sensor on Toyota Land Cruiser?
A:
Start the Parking Assist Distance Sensor installation by first positioning the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer while matching the keyhole to its protrusion yet being cautious to avoid destroying the bumper. Apply the claw to install the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor retainer according to the provided illustration. First secure the two claws onto the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor before connecting its connector then installing its clip. The installation of the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor requires three claw attachments followed by connector connection. Continued installation includes No. 2 frame wire then the rear bumper cover followed by the rear No. 1 bumper plate and the rear quarter panel mudguard LH and RH before you finish according to standard procedures.
