Removal of the magnet clutch assembly to a vise is necessary to service the compressor clutch. Hold up the special service tool 09930- 00010 and remove the bolt, hub and washer. With great care, remove the snap rings and stator. Install new snap rings, and make sure they are properly oriented and tightened.

How to remove and replace the A/C Clutch on Toyota Highlander?

For 2AZ-FE, discharge refrigerant. Remove V belt by loosening bolts A–C; remove generator. Disconnect/tape discharge and suction hoses. Unplug connector; remove nut and three bolts; remove compressor/clutch. Reinstall: tighten B, C, A, nut. Refit hoses with new O-rings, ND-OIL 8, torque 9.8 N·m. Refit belt/generator, recharge, leak-check.
