Begin installation of the brake master cylinder by putting in place two new gaskets followed by installing the brake master cylinder assembly using two nuts which should be torqued up to 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf). The
Brake Line should be tightened with Special Service Tool 09023-00101 up to 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) when using the tool or 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) without it. First provide a moderate resistance to the brake stroke simulator line for a brief moment before completing the tightening process with the tool to reach 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) strength or manually attain 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) without the tool. Install the No. 1 and No. 2 reservoir hoses to the brake master cylinder sub-assembly by moving the clips into correct position. Before joining a clevis pin to its new clip you should apply lithium soap base glycol grease. The installation requires the brake pedal return spring then both TMC and TMMK vehicles need the lower instrument panel finish panel LH and cowl side trim sub-assembly LH and front door scuff plate LH. The power steering ECU assembly should be installed with the windshield
Wiper Motor and link assembly and the cowl top panel outer sub-assembly followed by front fender to cowl side seals LH and RH and the front wiper arm and blade assemblies LH and RH and the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly. Fasten the 2 nuts onto the brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly and torque them to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf). Complete the connection of the negative battery terminal cable by normalizing control sequences of affected systems following this step. You should attach brake fluid into the reservoir before performing bleeding operations on the brake actuator hose and brake master cylinder and front brake system. After the installation of two ABS motor relays technicians should execute a brake control DTC clear, perform accumulator pressure zero-down tasks, verify the brake fluid level in the reservoir along with leak inspection and complete brake pedal height and stroke sensor assembly and free play and reserve distance adjustments.
